Name:
Natalya "Nami" Kirsanov
Age:
15
Gender: Female
Pearl Color:
Indigo
Sea:
Arctic
Mermaid/Merman Appearance: Wavy blue hair with a slight fringe. Goes down to mid-thigh
Human appearance:
Short, choppy, really dark brown hair, brown eyes.
Mermaid/Merman Formal:
See Mermaid appearance, add ceremonial battle armour.
Human Formal:
Um, just formal clothes? she'll actually put on make up?
Personality:
She's brash and not really all that good with people. She grew up surrounded by books, and so she has an unrealistic view of what the world's supposed to be like. Unfortunately, dragons died out centuries ago, so she's not going to get the chance to fight one. She's a stickler for traditions, even the ones she finds frankly ridiculous. One tradition she will not follow, however, is her traditional gender role. She's feisty and strong-headed and honestly could care less about tea parties and balls and dresses. She's snuck out to help the mermen hunt, but she's always worn heavy eye liner and lipstick under her helmet. She calls it her war-paint. She's aware that others find her attractive, and she uses it to her advantage. She's kind of manipulative and doesn't really think about others' feelings before she does something.
Any special talents:
She's really good at underwater combat, but this doesn't necessarily translate to land combat.
Relationships:
she's best friends with the North Pacific Princess, Lani, and had had several flings within her own country. Of course, her closest friends are her spear and her adventure books.
Orientation:
She's bi, as far as she knows. Mermaids don't really have a sense of orientation, given the way they reproduce, so she's never really seen any need to question herself further.
Bio:
Natalya was born from Noel's pearl, like mermaids do, and since she was little, she's been sneaking away. First it was to the Arctic Library, where she listened in on the older merkids' reading lessons and eventually learned to read herself, and then it was to training, where she would disguise herself as a merman (her hair was still short enough to do this back then) and sneak into the cadets' ranks and learn all she could. There were only two people who knew who she was: Anton, who promised to keep her secret, and Nikolay, who found out after she beat him in one-on-one and uses it as blackmail from time to time.
Other:She has a familiar, an orca named Zakhar (Zak) who taught her everything she knows about hunting. Zak has been able to take human form under certain cirgrossnessstances, and will usually pose as Natalya's older brother.
